Nafici Environmental Research was started by an environmental researcher who developed a new system for transforming agricultural waste (such as straw) into pulp for making paper. The innovation is the process that transforms straw to pulp through the use of a combination of chemicals and custom-made machinery. The founders engaged with other SMEs and experts in order to further develop their product and marketing strategy, and for scaling up production. The SME is currently in the process of developing new technologies that will help it scale up production.
