MULTICAP

This case focuses on the collaboration among an SME Multicap (a data-centered company), researchers from iMinds (linked to the Universities of Antwerp and Ghent), Videohouse (providers of video equipment and live broadcasting services) and the multinational entertainment company “Studio 100”. The purpose of the open innovation project was to launch a real time streaming service for self-made smartphone videos (so called SELVIEs: video-based selfies). It was targeted at concert goers enabling real-time interaction on the big screens at concerts. Thanks to the project, Multicap was able to acquire new customers, increase brand recognition as well as gain new skills in wireless communication solutions for a new type of conditions.
